Salary: £100 – £130 per day (depending on experience)
Contract: Full Time / Long Term
Start Date: Immediate / September Start Available

A vibrant and inclusive secondary school in Brent is seeking a confident and reliable Cover Supervisor to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, or experienced school support staff looking to gain valuable classroom experience in a supportive and well structured environment.

The successful candidate will supervise whole classes during the short term absence of teaching staff, ensuring students remain on task and engaged with the work provided. You will play an important role in maintaining high standards of behaviour and supporting students to continue their learning effectively across a range of subjects.

This role would suit individuals who are passionate about education, have strong communication skills and are able to manage classrooms with confidence.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervising whole classes during teacher absences and delivering pre prepared lesson materials.
• Ensuring students remain focused and engaged with their learning.
• Managing classroom behaviour in line with the school’s behaviour policy.
• Providing clear instructions and maintaining a positive learning environment.
• Supporting students where necessary to ensure they understand the work set.
• Reporting back to teaching staff regarding student progress, behaviour and completed work.
• Assisting with general classroom organisation when required.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• Previous experience working with young people in an educational or youth setting.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Confidence leading groups of students across KS3 and KS4.
• A calm, professional and proactive approach.
• A genuine interest in supporting young people and education.
• A degree or strong academic background (desirable but not essential).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
