Cover Supervisor

About the Role
Teaching Personnel is seeking a reliable and confident Cover Supervisor to work within a secondary school in Bexhill. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with young people and are looking to gain valuable experience within a school environment.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising whole classes during the short-term absence of the class teacher. You will ensure students remain on task with the work set by teaching staff while maintaining a positive and safe learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise classes across a range of subjects in the absence of the regular teacher

• Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and ensure students stay engaged with their work

• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies

• Provide support to students where necessary while maintaining appropriate boundaries

• Report any issues or feedback from lessons to teaching staff and senior leadership

• Ensure a safe and respectful learning environment for all students

Requirements

• Experience working with young people (in schools, tutoring, coaching, youth work, or similar) is desirable

• Strong classroom management and communication skills

• Confidence leading a classroom of secondary-aged students (11–16)

• A proactive, flexible, and professional attitude

• Eligibility to work in the UK

• An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one through Teaching Personnel

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
