A number of secondary schools in the Trafford area of Manchester are looking for Cover Supervisors to work within their school starting as soon as possible as cover requirements have already began to increase dramatically. This is as a result of teacher isolation and absences which are continuing for days at a time (as opposed to just single days).

The role:

The role of a cover supervisor is to deliver pre-set work in the absence of the classroom teacher. The role commands a certain level of flexibility as you may be delivering and supervising classes varying in size, ability and age. The successful cover supervisor could be covering a range of subjects giving you amazing experience for a future as a teacher.

The individual:

This role requires individuals who are confident and have any previous experience of working with young people or students, in a secondary school, primary school or youth work setting. The successful ‘cover supervisor’ will be motivated and able to engage with people of all ages including pupils aged 11 – 16 and fellow colleagues and teachers.

Highlights of the cover supervisor role:

  • Get paid for delivering pre-set work in a secondary schools
  • Competitive pay rate: range will be between GBP1300 – GBP1450 per month (depending on previous experience working in a secondary school)
  • A variety of secondary schools with options of cover including outstanding graded schools and those more challenging depending upon personal preference
  • Gain valuable experience working in a secondary school setting covering lessons as an unqualified teacher
  • Ideal role for a prospective future teacher
  • Temporary, part time and full-time opportunities covering lessons in a range of schools

The schools we work with are situated in the Trafford areas of Stretford, Altrincham, Urmston and Sale making them very easy to access from Chorlton, Lymm and the areas nearby. Local bus routes make these schools easily accessible for those travelling by public transport, as well as those living nearby on the Metrolink tram line. The M60 ring road services school ideally for those who drive.

This role will suit recent graduates or those due to graduate imminently who have some experience of engaging with young adults aged 11 – 16. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
