A friendly and supportive secondary school in Newcastle is seeking a motivated English Graduate Cover Supervisor to join their team. This role is perfect for aspiring English teachers or anyone eager to use their subject knowledge in a classroom environment.

About the Role

As an English Graduate Cover Supervisor, you will:

  • Deliver pre-prepared lessons across a range of subjects, including English
  • Use your strong literacy and communication skills to engage and support students
  • Maintain a positive and focused classroom environment
  • Manage behaviour in line with school policies
  • Support students with their understanding and completion of set work
  • Provide clear feedback to teaching staff at the end of each lesson

No formal teaching qualification is required, just confidence, strong communication skills, and the ability to build rapport with students.

What We’re Looking For

  • A degree in English (or a related)
  • UK experience working with young people (e.g., tutoring, mentoring, youth work, coaching)
  • Strong classroom presence and behaviour management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • A professional, proactive and adaptable attitude
  • A genuine interest in supporting student learning and wellbeing
