Construction Teacher
Job description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Construction Teacher to deliver City & Guilds Level 1 Construction qualifications on a part-time basis. This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive vocational team dedicated to developing practical skills and employability in young people.
Key Responsibilities:

Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons for Level 1 City & Guilds Construction courses, in line with awarding body requirements

Teach across core construction trades (e.g. basic carpentry, brickwork, painting & decorating) as required at Level 1

Provide hands-on workshop sessions focused on developing practical skills and workplace readiness

Monitor, assess, and track student progress, providing feedback and supporting students to achieve their qualifications

Maintain a safe and effective learning environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations

Work collaboratively with the vocational team to support learners’ engagement, behaviour, and progression
Requirements:
-
Recognised teaching qualification (e.g. QTS, QTLS, PGCE, or relevant adult education qualification)

Industry experience within construction trades

Experience delivering City & Guilds Level 1 Construction or similar vocational programmes

Strong classroom and workshop management skills

Commitment to safeguarding, equality, and supporting learners with a range of needs

Availability to work every Wednesday, with flexibility on the other 1–2 days
Desirable:
-
Assessor qualification (e.g. TAQA)
-
Experience teaching in a further education or alternative provision setting

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
