Position: Computer Science Teacher
Location: Clitheroe, Lancashire (BB7)
Date: November 2023
Contract type: Full-time, until July 2024

You will join a successful Ofsted graded ‘good’ Secondary school where the staff are committed to developing students as confident, aspiring and driven young adults. The school is well-known by the local community, and liaise frequently with local external companies to provide the best possible educational experience.
The role of the successful Computer Science Teacher will involve:
- Teaching of Computer Science, including planning and preparing courses and lessons; setting and marking of work; and assessing, recording and reporting on development, progress and attainment.
- Preparing pupils for examinations, assessing pupils for the purposes of such examinations, recording and reporting such assessments and attending meetings connected with the conduct of examinations.
- Communicating and consulting with the parents of pupils, including the writing of reports and attendance at parents’ evenings and open evenings.
- Maintaining good order and discipline among the pupils you are teaching.
- Participating in departmental meetings and taking responsibility for noting points of action and forwarding copies to Headteacher and Department Heads.
- Working as a member of a team in the shaping of Departmental policy and practice, introduction of curricular initiatives, the preparation and development of schemes of work, units of study and methods of teaching and assessment.
- Contributing to the provision of resources and teaching materials and taking some responsibility for care of stock.
- Participating in appropriate administrative and organisational tasks in order to ensure the smooth running of the Department.
- Keeping up to date with curriculum innovation, participating in arrangements for INSET, contributing to his/her own professional development.
- Taking responsibility for the monitoring and support of a student teacher taking your class (when required).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
