Complex Needs Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel are currently working on behalf of a large, specialist school Radcliffe, Bury that provide a happy and secure environment for children with complex and severe learning disabilities which include little or no language abilities. The school are looking to employ Teaching Assistants on a temporary to permanent basis immediately.

A range of other services is also available to students including an all-inclusive sports facility, specialist therapy as well as staff with expertise in autism, multi-sensory impairments and behaviour management.

Students needs include Autism spectrum conditions, multi-sensory impairment, Hearing or visual impairment with additional needs, Profound and multiple learning disabilities, Complex physical disabilities, Cortical visual impairment, Additional medical needs including progressive and degenerative conditions.

We are looking for people that are flexible and can work on a day to day basis as well as people that would like long term work. You must have had solid experience working with children and/or young people with complex and severe learning disabilities including Autism. Additional training and experience such as Moving and Handling, Team-Teach, Peg feeding, PECS, Personal Care would be highly beneficial.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
