The school are looking for Teaching Assistants who are happy to support pupils with additional learning need. The vacancies available in to support pupils with Autism and Social Emotional Mental Health Needs. As the pandemic has interupted education which has had a huge impact on education, we are looking for staff to be as flexible as possible in supporting the school and students where needed. 

Schools will eventually return to a normal time table and we need to ensure we have the right staff to get stuck in. 

The role

Teaching Assistants will be required to work directly with young people one to one or in small groups. You will help with learning, monitoring work progress and helping raise pupils self esteem and confidence in their abilities to achieve academically and venture on to further education or work. Although the primary goal of the school is to support the academic abilities of these pupils as a Teaching Assistant you will support emotional needs and wellbeing of pupils. You will need to be resilient, understanding and nurturing as these young people will be experience struggles outside of school and in every life. Teaching Assistant support is invaluable to Teachers and young people that is why the school are heavily investing in staff through training and development. This is the perfect opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant to add value to the lives of young people.


  • NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent)
  • Experienced working with Special Educational Needs – Social Emotional Mental Health Needs, Autism, ADHD and Learning Difficulties
  • Ability to connect and build a trusting relationship with pupils as they will look up to you as mentors
  • Be a strong role model and key figure in the lives of these young people as some will be lacking this outside of the school environment.
  • Team Teach trained (not essential training can be provided)
  • Emotional strong and resilient personality
  • Keen to take on additional training related to Special Need and Mental Health

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
