Classroom Assistant - Rochdale

Do you want to support a range of secondary school students with their studies?

Due to a gap in the support department of our partner secondary school in Rochdale, Teaching Personnel are currently looking to recruit a Classroom Assistant from October 2019 or sooner if possible.

  • Full time Classroom Assistant required from October 2019 or sooner if possible
  • Role until the end of the academic year initially
  • Opportunity for a permanent contract from the start of the 2020/2021 academic year
  • Supporting a range of students on a small group basis as well as supporting them 1:1
  • 'Outstanding' secondary school in Rochdale
  • Earn up to £1300 per month

Our partner secondary school is located in the Milnrow area of Rochdale, and is a large and oversubscribed mixed comprehensive academy with state of the art facilities since moving to their new building in 2011. With an above average Progress 8 score of 0.38, this highly successful school is well respected in the local community due to years of consistently good results. Learning takes place in a multi-million pound, state of the art building after the school moved to their new base in 2011.

"We are seeking to appoint a caring and dedicated individual to our team of support staff as a Classroom Assistant. This is a highly rewarding role which will involve supporting a range of our students with additional needs whether they have SEND or SEMH complexities." SENCO.

Experience of working with young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) is desirable but not essential for this role. Working as a Classroom Assistant is a rewarding career, where successful candidates can make an impact to the lives of students daily. This is also a role where everyday is different, having a range of different tasks to undertake whilst gaining experience in various parts of education including:

  • Assisting pupils on a 1:1 basis in an attempt to raise progress and attainment
  • Working with pupils in groups to support them in a range of subjects
  • Supporting the class teacher with the preparation and delivery of class work
  • Working with students with a variety of needs including learning, behaviour and SEND

If you would like to apply for this post as a Classroom Assistant, please apply via the link below or send an updated CV to Chris Beckenham at Manchester North Secondary directly, alternatively call on the number provided for further information.
