Location:  Blackburn Primary schools (various sites)
Hours: Term-time / Part-time or Full-time (flexible)
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Do you have a passion for helping children thrive? Are you patient, caring, and ready to make a real difference in a child’s school day? We’re looking for a Children’s Support Worker to join our team and support pupils in primary school settings.

About the Role

As a Children’s Support Worker, you will work closely with teachers and school staff to support children’s emotional, social, and learning needs. You may work one-to-one or with small groups, helping children build confidence, manage emotions, and engage positively with learning.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide tailored support to children in the classroom and around school

• Support pupils with additional needs (e.g. SEND, SEMH, or behavioural needs)

• Encourage positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and social skills

• Help children access the curriculum and stay engaged in learning

• Build trusting, supportive relationships with children and staff

• Follow school policies and safeguarding procedures at all times

About You

• Caring, patient, and reliable

• Passionate about working with children

• Experience working with children (school, care, youth work, or similar) is desirable

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Able to remain calm and positive in challenging situations

• Relevant qualifications or training are an advantage, but not essential
