Teaching Personnel are recruiting care assistants to support and care for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities for a partner school based in Wallsend.
There are numerous roles available to support pupils of all age ranges, from 0-17 years. Pupils at the school have a range of complex conditions which include behaviours that can challenge, epilepsy, learning disabilities, physical disabilities, Cerebral Palsy, Angelman Syndrome, Diabetes, Superior Mesenteric Artery Syndrome, Communication Difficulties, Dysphagia, PEG/ PEJ, reduced skin integrity and Autism.
Applicants with a background in care work (supporting either children or adults) or teaching assistant work would be ideally suited for the role.
Typical daily tasks include:
- assisting with personal care and continence requirements
- assisting with PEG or PEJ feeds.
- administering medication or medication prompts.
- assisting pupils with Dysphagia concerns at mealtimes
- supporting with classroom work
- supporting therapy sessions
A typical day would be from 8.30am-3.30pm. The roles are full time and temporary initially, however there is a strong possibility of a permanent contract for the right candidate.
Teaching Personnel can offer competitive rates of pay starting from £55-75. Daily pay rate will be negotiated for the right candidate, as well as the opportunity to up skill your professional development by utilising our CPD Academy. You will also be supported by our specialist SEND Team who all come from backgrounds in education and knowledge of the current market.
