Job description

An opportunity has arisen at a school in Trafford is looking for an experienced Chemistry teacher to join the teaching staff on a temporary basis. It is crucial that the required applicant:

  • Holds (QTS) – or an equivalent qualification.
  • Is educated to degree level (preferably in Chemistry, or another Science related subject)
  • Is able to confidently deliver lessons to large group sizes, as well as work with children across a broad range of ages and abilities.

The successful applicant will be able:

  • To deliver school curriculum, and to be able to offer consistent feedback to subject leaders, senior leadership, parents and students whenever necessary.
  • To consider the importance of overall lab safety, and be able to safely demonstrate the use of equipment within the lab.
  • To work with support staff (technicians) to be able to ensure that the lab is in fit state for learning to take place, as well as ensuring that equipment is effectively calibrated.
  • To mark and grade work accordingly, as well as ensure that students are adhering to school policy.
  • To be able to consider recommendations made by Ofsted, and how these can directly affect a school.
  • Monitoring key factors related to attendance, examination preparation and overall student progress/attainment.
  • To consider the need for effective differentiation, to cater the needs of those with SEN, as well as those students requiring EAL support.

  • Has several transport links within close proximity, including met stops located close by.

PAY - GBP23,373 - GBP40,490 per year, based on experience.
