Chemistry Teacher – South Devon Area

Full Time & Part Time Opportunities | January Start

This is a full-time position with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Chemistry Teacher, you will:

  • Deliver dynamic and engaging Chemistry lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, tailored to a range of abilities
  • Inspire students to develop a love for science and practical experimentation
  • Take full responsibility for planning, preparation, and assessment, ensuring lessons meet curriculum standards
  • Contribute to the development of schemes of work and share best practice within a collaborative Science department
  • Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect and high expectations
  • Use effective behaviour management strategies to maintain a focused learning atmosphere
  • Support students’ academic progress and personal growth, including preparation for GCSE examinations

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching Chemistry within a UK school setting
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for science education
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and contribute to the wider school community
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
