Chemistry Teacher – Full Time (Temp to Perm)

All-Girls Secondary School – Liverpool
Contract: Full-Time, Temp to Perm
Start Date: ASAP

A highly regarded all-girls secondary school in the Liverpool area is seeking a passionate and fully qualified Chemistry Teacher to join its successful and well-resourced Science Department. This position will start on a temporary basis, with a strong possibility of becoming permanent for the right candidate.

Pupils are described as happy, safe, and eager to learn, benefitting from teachers’ strong subject knowledge and high expectations. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic Chemistry specialist who can deliver high-quality teaching across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver well-planned, engaging Chemistry lessons across KS3 and KS4.
  • Support students in making strong progress through high-quality instruction and clear explanations.
  • Implement effective behaviour management strategies that reflect the school’s high standards for conduct and mutual respect.
  • Assess student work regularly and provide constructive, purposeful feedback.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and departmental initiatives within the Science faculty.
  • Uphold and promote the school’s values of respect, ambition, wellbeing, and academic excellence.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching Chemistry at KS4 level.
  • Strong subject knowledge with the ability to communicate scientific ideas clearly and confidently.
  • Effective behaviour management skills and a commitment to maintaining high classroom standards.
  • A genuine passion for inspiring and supporting young women to excel in Science.

Desirable

  • Experience working in an all-girls secondary school setting.
  • Familiarity with GCSE Chemistry exam specifications.
