An established and well‑respected all girls secondary school in the Liverpool area is seeking a passionate, fully qualified Chemistry Teacher to join its successful Science Department. The position will start on a temporary basis with an excellent chance of becoming permanent for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, well‑structured Chemistry lessons for KS3 and KS4 pupils.
• Support students in making strong progress through clear explanations and responsive teaching.
• Use effective behaviour management strategies in line with the school’s high standards.
• Mark and assess students’ work regularly, providing constructive feedback to drive improvement.
• Contribute to curriculum development and departmental planning within the Science faculty.
• Promote and uphold the school’s values of respect, ambition, wellbeing, and academic excellence.

Person Specification

Essential

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience teaching Chemistry at KS4 level.
• Strong subject knowledge and the ability to explain scientific concepts clearly and confidently.
• Effective behaviour management skills and commitment to maintaining high classroom expectations.
• Enthusiasm for supporting young women to achieve highly in Science.

Desirable

• Experience teaching in an all girls secondary school.
• Understanding of GCSE Chemistry exam specifications.
