Contract: Full Time – Temp to Perm

Location: Liverpool (All‑Girls Secondary School)
A well‑established all‑girls secondary school in the Liverpool area is seeking a dedicated and fully qualified Chemistry Teacher to join its thriving Science Department. This role will begin on a temporary basis with a strong likelihood of becoming permanent for the right candidate.
The school is celebrated for its calm, welcoming atmosphere, strong academic ethos, and consistently Good Ofsted rating. Pupils are described as happy, safe, and inspired by teachers’ strong subject knowledge and high expectations, taking pride in their work and engaging positively in classroom learning.
This is an exceptional opportunity for an enthusiastic Chemistry specialist who can deliver high‑quality teaching across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, well‑structured Chemistry lessons across KS3 and KS4.
- Support students in achieving excellent progress through high‑quality teaching and clear explanations.
- Apply effective behaviour management strategies consistent with the school’s reputation for strong conduct and respectful relationships.
- Regularly assess student work and provide meaningful feedback that drives improvement.
- Contribute to curriculum development and departmental planning within the Science faculty.
- Uphold the school’s culture of respect, aspiration, wellbeing, and academic ambition.
Person Specification
Essential
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience teaching Chemistry at Key Stage 4.
- Strong subject knowledge with the ability to communicate scientific concepts confidently and clearly.
- Effective behaviour management and commitment to maintaining high classroom standards.
- Passion for supporting young women to achieve highly in Science.
Desirable
- Experience teaching in an all‑girls secondary school environment.
- Familiarity with GCSE Chemistry exam specifications.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
