Chemistry Teacher (Maternity Cover)
Lancaster (LA1) Full-Time | Maternity Cover Start Date: 6th October 2026

We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Chemistry Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in Lancaster (LA1) on a full-time basis to cover a maternity leave. This role will commence on 6th October 2026 and offers the opportunity to make a real impact within a supportive and well-established Science department.
The Role
As a Chemistry Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, inspiring students to develop their scientific knowledge and curiosity. You will play a key role in maintaining high standards of teaching and learning while supporting students to achieve their full potential.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality Chemistry lessons across KS3 and KS4.
- Assess, monitor and report on student progress.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners.
- Contribute to the wider success of the Science department.
The Ideal Candidate
To be considered for this position, candidates must:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Have proven experience teaching Chemistry at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
- Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and classroom management skills.
- Be committed to raising standards and achieving excellent outcomes for students.
- Possess excellent communication and organisational skills.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
