Teaching Assistants Needed – Catholic Primary Schools in Cardiff

Do you have a passion for supporting children’s learning while sharing the values of the Catholic faith? Teaching Personnel are recruiting full-time Teaching Assistants to join Catholic primary schools across Cardiff. This is a wonderful opportunity to support children’s educational and spiritual growth in a welcoming school community.

Position Details:

  • Role: Teaching Assistant – Catholic Primary School
  • Location: Cardiff
  • Pay: £89.38 per day
  • Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
  • Start Date: Immediate (subject to vetting checks)

About the Role:

As a Teaching Assistant in a Catholic primary school, you will play a key role in helping children thrive both academically and personally. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting whole-class teaching as well as working with small groups and individual pupils.
  • Assisting the teacher in preparing lessons, setting up the classroom, and providing resources.
  • Encouraging children to explore and understand Catholic values in an age-appropriate way.
  • Creating a calm, supportive, and inclusive environment that helps children feel safe and ready to learn.
  • Offering pastoral support and encouragement to children in their early years of education.

Candidate Requirements:

We are looking for caring, enthusiastic, and reliable individuals who are committed to making a positive impact in the classroom. To apply, you should have:

  • A passion for working with children in a primary school setting.
  • An understanding of Catholic values and the ability to promote them within school life.
  • Confidence, good communication skills, and the ability to adapt to different classroom situations.
  • EWC registration – we can guide you through the process if you’re not yet registered.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service – support available if needed.

Previous classroom or childcare experience is desirable but not essential. We welcome applications from individuals with backgrounds in education, childcare, youth work, parish involvement, or similar roles.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
