Are you passionate about supporting children and helping them thrive in a safe, caring, and inclusive environment? We are looking for a compassionate, enthusiastic, and reliable Care Support Worker to join our primary school team.
About the Role
As a Primary School Care Support Worker, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide care, encouragement, and practical assistance to pupils throughout the school day. You will help children feel safe, confident, and supported, enabling them to achieve their full potential both academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities
- Support pupils with their personal care needs while maintaining their dignity and independence.
- Assist children with additional learning, physical, emotional, or medical needs.
- Encourage positive behaviour and help create a nurturing learning environment.
- Supervise pupils during lessons, break times, lunchtime, and school activities.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, carers, and school staff.
- Support children with social interaction, communication, and emotional wellbeing.
- Follow individual care plans, risk assessments, and safeguarding procedures.
- Assist teachers in preparing learning activities and classroom resources where required.
- Maintain accurate records and report any concerns to the appropriate staff.
What We're Looking For
- A caring, patient, and compassionate approach to working with children.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- The ability to build trusting relationships with pupils and staff.
- A positive attitude and willingness to support children's individual needs.
- Experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection is an advantage, although training will be provided.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
