Care Assistant

Job description

I am looking for a Teaching Assistant with Moving and Handling Training to start as soon as possible at a fantastic SEN Primary school based in York.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with SEN or primary education but it is not essential. You must have a friendly ethos and have the ability to build relationships with every student.

The Job Role:

  • Supporting the delivery of all lessons and helping to engage students
  • Encouraging and developing the students confidence and independence
  • Liaise with teachers and support staff to develop education plans
  • Working within specialised class rooms
  • SEN to include ASC, Hearing Impairment, Physical Disability, Medical Needs and Vision Impairment
  • Age range 4-11
  • 8.30am to 4.00pm

Ideal candidate requirements:

  • Experience of SEN (1 on 1 would be advantageous)
  • Experience supporting complex needs such as Autism and Speech, Language and Communication Needs
  • Great communication skills
  • Right attitude towards teaching and learning within SEN
  • Moving and Handling is essential, or the willingness to complete the course
