Are you looking to use your experience working within a care or support setting to support a change of career?
Have you ever thought about working with young children who are in need of extra social and academic support?
If you have answered yes to the above then we have a role that could be your perfect step into a school based career.
We are currently supporting one of our largest Cardiff schools to recruit support staff, that have previous experience or a desire to work with pupils that need extra support within the classroom. The support can come either in the form of academic support where you would be required to breakdown curriculum tasks to ensure learning can be achieved. Patience is key for this type of support as some learners will work at a slower pace than set by the Teacher. Alternatively you can be required to support socially, as some of the learners show particular signs of challenging behaviour and can become restless within the classroom which hinders learning.
Key Objectives of the role:
- To support either 1:1 or small group settings
- Liaise with leads of the particular bases within the school in particular the SENCO
- Ensure pupils stay on track with learning
- Encourage those with lower abilities to learning
- Support risk of exclusion pupils
Requirements of Teaching Personnel:
- Degree educated is desirable not essential
- Previous experience working with children or in a supportive role
- Desire to make a difference
- Initiative to work alone when instruction is not always given
If you would like to be considered for these current roles then we are looking to appoint for 2 roles within the next few weeks so please send through your most recent CV via the link provided and one of our Secondary Team will get in contact to discuss progressing your application further.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
