Business Teacher - September 2019 - Oldham

A specialist school in Oldham are currently looking to recruit a full time Business Teacher in September 2019. The post begins in September 2019 and will involve covering a maternity post so the successful Teacher will be accepted to work until July 2019.

The setting provides education for pupils 11-16 who are being educated outside of mainstream schools. Pupils who attend the setting may be being educated out of mainstream for a variety of including: SEMH needs and pupils who display signs of challenging behaviour. The teacher will be responsible for working in collaboration with school support staff to integrate pupils back into mainstream.

The ideal teacher will have experience planning and delivering lessons designed to support and encourage the optimal development of pupils who display signs of challenging behaviour. The teacher will be responsible for building and maintaining close working relationships with pupils who often display signs of challenging behaviour. The ideal teacher will also have experience planning and delivering specialised interventions which are designed to support pupils who display signs of challenging behaviour in reaching their optimal educational potential.

Due to the specific needs of the pupils the teacher will have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (essential)
• A passion for supporting the optimal development of pupils who display signs of challenging behaviour
• An understanding of the importance of effective de-escalation tactics
• Team- Teach training (can be provided)
• An in-depth understanding of crisis prevention tactics
• The ability to build up a strong rapport with pupils, support staff, parents and the wider community
