Experience working alongside the EYFS Curriculum is a necessity and you must be able to provide evidence of this and how you can comfortably work with children from varying backgrounds.
Experience working with Early Reading and Number would be preferable with schemes such as Read Write Inc. Jolly Phonics and Letters and Sounds.
You must be confident in the toileting, changing and administering of medication with all children as this will be an expectation in the EYFS department.
Are you an EYFS experienced or qualified teaching assistant? Have you previously worked in a Nursery, Pre-School or Reception setting? Could you work on a full or part time basis supporting the individual needs of children in an Early Years?
A school located in the heart of Blackburn, not too far from the centre of town, have already appointed two teaching assistants across their school this academic year through Teaching Personnel to support children with additional needs. The SENCO in school is always keen to see new faces, trialling with the view to taking people from the agency when she has a need in school The school is larger than average, currently standing at a full two form entry in-take. The school does receive a higher proportion of children with additional needs, so the school are keen for Teaching Personnel to keep recruiting high quality staff in case there are reasons to appoint. The current members of staff taken from the agency this year have varied in the roles they have undertaken; from Behaviour to Medical support across years EYFS-Year 4. The school are currently graded as Outstanding by Ofsted and work exclusively with Teaching Personnel for all their temporary SEN support needs. The Head teacher supports other schools in the local area and with this you will receive excellent support and be able to access additional professional development such as; Team Teach, Autism Awareness and Manual Handling.
This is a great school with an excellent reputation in the local area; there are plenty of opportunities in school and this means if you contact me now you may well find out about your perfect role!
