Behavioural Support Teaching Assistant

Location: Sheffield, S10
Salary: £90 – £100 per day (depending on experience)
Contract: Full-time / Part-time | Term Time Only
Start Date: ASAP or September 2025

Are you passionate about supporting children with behavioural needs and helping them thrive in a school environment? Teaching Personnel is seeking dedicated and compassionate Behavioural Support Teaching Assistants to join our team in primary schools across Sheffield.

The Role:

As a Behavioural Support TA, you will:

  • Work closely with students with challenging behaviour, SEMH needs, or those at risk of exclusion
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to help pupils engage with learning
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and SENCOs to implement individual behaviour plans
  • Foster positive relationships and encourage emotional resilience and self-regulation
  • Assist in maintaining a safe, supportive and inclusive classroom environment

We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with children or young people with behavioural needs (in school, care, or community settings)
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
  • A genuine interest in helping pupils overcome barriers to learning
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
