Are you confident in supporting young people who display challenging behaviour?

Are you currently looking for a new role within support work and behaviour management?

If so, Teaching Personnel want to hear from youth workers, counsellors, sport coaches and support workers, who may be wanting to start a career in education.

The Deputy of a Secondary School in Leyland is looking for additional support for behaviour in school; this is due to a gap in staffing as the intake of students for the new academic year has been considerably higher.

Roles and responsibilities involved in this role may include:

  • Supporting students in small groups who display challenging behaviour and therefore, require more focused attention to progress academically.
  • Providing guidance and support inside and outside the classroom for pupils who have behavioural difficulties.
  • Working alongside senior teachers and reporting pupils' progress back to them on a regular progress.
  • Developing and delivering interventions for students at various levels of learning ability

The school is based in Leyland, with public transport links nearby. The school is Ofsted 'good' and is over-subscribed. The intake of pupils this year has been higher than expected, therefore are in need of additional support - especially in Year 7.

  • Full-time Behaviour Support Assistant role available from October 2019 until the end of the academic year, with the hopes of this being extended, depending on performance.
  • Experience with challenging behaviour is desirable however, our client school does provide excellent behaviour management courses therefore this is not desirable.
  • Supporting students aged 11-16.
