Behaviour Support Worker - Standish

Do you have experience of working with young people that display challenging behaviour?

Teaching Personnel are currently working with a Secondary school located in Wigan to recruit a Behaviour Support Assistant ahead of the new academic year in September 2019.

The role will be for a full academic year on a temporary basis, with the opportunity that the role will continue beyond this point due to plans for expansion.

  • Full-time Behaviour Support Assistant from September 2019.
  • Temporary role being advertised for the full academic year
  • Earn up to £400 per week, paid in weekly arrears
  • Large 'Good' graded secondary school

Our client secondary school situated in the Standish area of Wigan is much larger than other schools in its locality, with approximately 1200 students currently enrolled. The school consistently post good GCSE results, has an above average progress 8 score and holds an excellent reputation within the local community. Located just a short drive from the M6 the school offers good accessibility from surrounding areas.

"We are looking for an experienced Behaviour Support Worker who is able to work with identified students who are looking to be re-integrated into mainstream education after a length of time in alternative provision. The successful candidate will be able to motivate and encourage a range of individuals in order to improve their behaviour, and ultimately their progress and attainment." Headteacher.

As a Behaviour Support Worker at our client school the successful candidate will be working with up to 3 students, supporting them throughout their lessons as well as spending time in the school's dedicated 'Pupil Support Centre'. Prospective candidates who have experience in youth work roles, as well as sports coaches will have many transferable skills for this role.
