About the role:

This rewarding position offers the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people. As a Behaviour Support Mentor (BSM), you will help pupils develop resilience, safety and respect in their learning, using therapeutic approaches such as PACE, Thrive, and Zones of Regulation.

You will share our belief that all behaviour is a form of communication and that, with the right guidance and support, every child can learn to manage their emotions and behaviour to lead confident, happy and fulfilling lives.

Working collaboratively with colleagues and key stakeholders, you will contribute to a positive, inclusive learning environment that puts pupils at the centre of everything we do. Your focus will be on building trusting relationships, supporting emotional regulation, and helping resolve any issues that impact well-being, safety or learning.

Through a consistent, solution-focused approach, you will promote pupil progress, personal responsibility and independence—empowering young people to take ownership of their choices and futures.

 

Who are we looking for?

  • The successful candidate will have a flexible approach, knowledge and experience of working with children in KS1-2 who have social, emotional and mental health difficulties.
  • Someone who is highly resilient, able to work well as a member of a successful team and someone who has highly developed interpersonal skills and a good sense of humour.
  • Someone who is trained in Team Teach
  • Full UK driving licence with no more than 3 points

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
