Behaviour Support - Bradford

Our SEN Team are looking to recruit a Behaviour Support Assistant with experience in engaging disaffected children with low self-esteem who may suffer with some anxiety and/or anger management challenges.

The successful applicant will be based in a secondary provision in the Whetley area of Bradford who provide bespoke programmes, and focus on providing an additional layer of supportive behaviour management. You will work together with teachers and senior leaders to create a positive learning environment where students are encouraged to engage and thrive. You will be able to build strong working relationships with your colleagues and with students and you will be confident in managing challenging behaviour and in developing ways for young people to manage their emotions.

As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will have a background in working with young people or adults with challenging behaviour and have worked in educational or health and care settings. You will be working either on a one-to-one basis or with small groups based on the pupils identified as needing support in this area. The length of the assignment will be dependent on the development of the child/children and will be judged on their improved confidence, engagement and positive outlook. Essentially this will be determined by the school.
