Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant

Join a vibrant residential academy in central Haywards Heath seeking to appoint a behaviour specialist Teaching Assistant on a full-time temporary from December.

The successful candidate will join the schools Climate and Behaviour team to provide pastoral and learning support to students struggling with their behaviour.

They will be working closely with Senior Leaders, parents and carers and will have excellent knowledge of Safeguarding procedures. We are looking for someone who will act as a positive role model and will have an understanding of the various barriers to learning, particularly in relation to those who come from disadvantaged backgrounds.

This vibrant residential school is located in the heart of the city centre of Haywards Heath and is easily accessible from the surrounding areas of West Sussex via car only. With over 1000 pupils on roll, the school welcomes students from a vast variety of backgrounds, ethnicities and cultures making it a vibrant, inclusive learning environment for all students. The school building is modern and has excellent facilities throughout which plays an active role in providing the highest quality of teaching and learning for all students.

Highlights of this Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant position;

• Full time role commencing December 2020

• Providing academic and pastoral support to student in need of behaviour support

• 8:30am – 3pm, term time only

• Introduction to a large vibrant multi-cultural residential school in Haywards Heath

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
