Behaviour Support Assistant

Teaching personnel are currently recruiting on behalf of one of our partner secondary schools in Caerphilly (CF83) for a strong Teaching Assistant. The position is a full-time role (Monday – Friday) and has a daily rate of GBP60-75. This position will be starting on the 22^nd of February until the end of the academic year.

Due to covid-19 there has now seen a rise in behavioural issues, so the school are looking for a confident and passionate Teaching Assistant to help relate with the students. The school have previously used sports to help encourage pupils and this has aided engagement with the most challenging of pupils. Alternate ways of helping students has played a huge part in this school’s success over the years.

Your role will be to work on a 1:1 basis with a challenging pupil working on additional work set by departments within the school. As well as working on ensuring this pupil attends classes promoting getting back into school life and a routine. You will be given access to ICT suites, learning rooms, reading areas and sports halls to help enhance learning throughout. The school have a love for sports and have found this has a positive impact on the pupils who engage, so aspects of sports activities will be required.

The ideal sports coach will have the following –

• Ability to work in a team and individually
• Able to handle pressured situation’s
• Have experience working on a 1:1 basis
• Come from a sports background (Preferred not essential)
• Have the confidence to tackle challenging behaviour and to work with additional learning needs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
