Behaviour Mentor Needed – St Mellon’s Area CF5 Area– Daily rate GBP61.20 – 75 – September 2021 to July 2022

Teaching Personnel are actively seeking a behaviour mentor to support a secondary school in the St Mellon’s area. The school are looking for a behaviour mentor that can work full-time and start in September. You will receive a daily rate of GBP61.20 – 75 per day dependant on experience, the school are looking to offer a permanent contract to the successful applicant.

As a result of the UK lockdown period pupils are showing increasing needs for behaviour support during lessons. Our secondary school are currently seeking someone who can work with a year 10 pupil who is struggling to engage with the class teacher and complete work set. This selected pupil has tendencies to shout out in lessons and cause disruption with other pupils within the classroom.

Your role will consist of multiple elements of support during the school day, you will be required to work on a 1:1 basis with the selected pupil encouraging and supporting with the work set by the class teacher. In addition to that you will be expected to shadow the pupil in selected main stream lessons during the day, ensuring the pupil is work ready with the correct equipment and on time. During the lessons you may need to combat potential disruption that may arise, de-escalating situations and stepping in to remove the pupil from the lesson if needed.

Our school has a base unit that supports all teaching assistants within the school for additional support, additional training and advice when needed. You will have access to learning rooms and the base unit to take the pupil to relax and clam down from any situation that may come up during the day. The school are offering onsite parking as well as a mentor to have during the placement within the school to help with additional training and up skilling you.

-                 Confident with pressured situations

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
