Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant Required - Preston

We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and experienced Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant to join a supportive Secondary School in the Preston area.

This rewarding full-time role involves working with a small group of pupils outside of the main classroom environment, providing tailored support to help them engage positively with learning and successfully manage behavioural challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting a small group of pupils with social, emotional and behavioural needs.
• Delivering targeted interventions and structured activities outside of the classroom.
• Building positive relationships to encourage engagement, confidence and emotional regulation.
• Implementing behaviour support strategies and promoting positive outcomes.
• Working closely with teaching staff, SENCOs and other professionals to support individual learning and development plans.
• Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to the wider school team.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Previous experience working in a Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant position or a similar role.
• A strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques.
• Experience supporting children with additional learning, social, emotional or behavioural needs.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• A calm, patient and resilient approach.
• A genuine passion for supporting young people to achieve their full potential.

Essential Requirements:

• Proven experience in a similar behaviour support role within an educational setting.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
• Ability to work full-time during school hours.
