Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant Required - Preston
We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and experienced Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant to join a supportive Secondary School in the Preston area.
This rewarding full-time role involves working with a small group of pupils outside of the main classroom environment, providing tailored support to help them engage positively with learning and successfully manage behavioural challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting a small group of pupils with social, emotional and behavioural needs.
- Delivering targeted interventions and structured activities outside of the classroom.
- Building positive relationships to encourage engagement, confidence and emotional regulation.
- Implementing behaviour support strategies and promoting positive outcomes.
- Working closely with teaching staff, SENCOs and other professionals to support individual learning and development plans.
- Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to the wider school team.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Previous experience working in a Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant position or a similar role.
- A strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques.
- Experience supporting children with additional learning, social, emotional or behavioural needs.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- A calm, patient and resilient approach.
- A genuine passion for supporting young people to achieve their full potential.
Essential Requirements:
- Proven experience in a similar behaviour support role within an educational setting.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
- Ability to work full-time during school hours.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
