Teaching Personnel have been approached by a secondary school located in central South Manchester, in order to recruit a Behaviour Support assistant to join the schools pastoral team. This Behaviour Support vacancy is for a full time, on going position, starting from January 2019. There is an opportunity for a school based contract for the successful Behaviour Support Assistant, following an introduction from Teaching Personnel. The Manchester secondary school are seeking a Behaviour Support Assistant with an empathetic nature, and who will be able to implement a 'firm but fair' approach with pupils. The successful Behaviour Support assistant will be able to build rapport with young people, particularly those who are vulnerable and have Social Emotional Mental Health needs.

As a Behaviour Support assistant, you will be working with a cohort of pupils across the Key Stages, engaging with them in a pastoral role. You will be assigned certain pupils, and will be their main point of contact within school, acting as a mentor and role model to the pupils, and working through any problems they may have in or out of school. The Behaviour Support role is multi faceted, so you will need to be able to adapt to the needs of various pupils.

The Manchester secondary school is located in a central South Manchester location, and many of the pupils are classed as disadvantage pupils. The School is located in central South Manchester, and is 5 minutes for Manchester's ring road. The school also has direct public transport links from Manchester city centre. The location of the school means that the cohort of pupils is multicultural, and have high levels of EAL.
