Are you experienced in child counselling?

Do you have a background in psychology/behavioural support? 

The current situation in the world has caused a huge amount of stress and uncertainty- children have been out of schools for a long time and it is expected that this will have raised levels of anxiety -  we want the transition back to school to go as smoothly and stress free as possible for all pupils, we are seeking experienced child behavioural support assistants to offer their support to children who may find the prospect of returning to schools a daunting one. You would supporting a number of SEN schools in Chelmsford, working 1:1 and in small group sessions with pupils who may find the return to school stressful.

This role would be ideally suited to a candidate with a background in child psychology, care, SEN or coaching. You would be working with these children on a 1:1 basis, allowing them to talk about how they are feeling and it is your role to offer support, guidance and reassurance to the pupils during this transitional period. You would also be running small group sessions for the pupils, which could include educational based games and sessions where the pupils can express how they are feeling in a safe and controlled environment.

The ideal candidate would have:

  • Safeguarding qualifications
  • Experience in working on a 1:1 basis with pupils
  • Be a recent graduate with a relevant degree (Sport, English, Maths, Psychology)
  • Be compassionate, patient and kind
  • A hard working attitude to all aspects of work

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
