Behaviour Student Support Assistant

We are seeking SEN support staff for a local Portmsouth school that provides education for pupils who are unable to attend mainstream school for either Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) Needs or medical reasons. The school has multiple sites in the Portsmouth area cater for a various ages that range from year 5 - year 11 (KS2 - KS4). They also offer Outreach Services to support learners in other schools across Portsmouth.
The curriculum offers a personalised approach based on individual needs with every learner having an Individual Learning Plan offering both academic and vocational pathways. A range of interventions and evidence-based support is provided to ensure all pupils are given the best opportunity to thrive, despite previous difficulties in their educational journey.
The ideal candidate will have:
* Strong ability and skills to keep students involved and "on track"
* Excellent support and motivational skills
* Previous experience working with SEMH needs
* Flexibility to adapt to unique situations and requirements
* Team Teach experience (although this will be provided via on job training)
* An outstanding track record being reliable, professional, hardworking and punctual
* Hold a current enhanced DBS on the update service or be prepared to apply for a new one
