  • Teaching Assistant - Behaviour Specialist
  • Primary School with excellent reputation/relationship with Teaching Personnel
  • Mon - Fri 8:30am - 15:30pm
  • £60 - £70 Daily Rate

We are currently looking for a Teaching Assistant - Behaviour Specialist to work in a welcoming Primary School based in Merton. The right candidate must have the ability to work and support children with special educational needs and you must have strong behaviour management skills. Please keep in mind this is a challenging role as the children different types of complex needs.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Under the direction of the Inclusion Manager, work with individuals and small groups of students within a classroom situation to ensure each child has the maximum access to all learning activities
  • In liaison with teaching staff, plan, prepare and deliver the support needed, developing strategies to achieving positive behavioural outcomes
  • Support teaching staff with appropriate strategies when dealing with challenging behaviour
  • Ensure pupils receive regular and constructive feedback with regards to their progress
  • Arrange and develop one-to-one mentoring programmes to support students in managing their own classroom behaviour and learning
  • Work with teaching staff in the planning and implementation of individual behaviour support programmes for named children or small groups
  • Develop and deliver group workshops for students identified with Behavioural, Social and Emotional Difficulties

Requirements:

  • Enthusiastic about working with SEN children
  • Excellent behaviour management skills
  • Ability to work with SEN children of all natures
  • Ability to work on a one to one basis
  • Valid DBS
  • 3+ months experience with SEN children
