Job description

Behaviour Specialist Assistant – Primary Schools (STF Units & Mainstream 1:1)

Full-Time | Term-Time Only | Immediate Start

Do you have a passion for helping children thrive — especially those who need a little extra support ?
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and resilient Behaviour Specialist Assistant to join our team and make a real difference in local primary schools.

Your own transport is essential. We are searching for educators that are willing to cover the Swansea area and travel up to 30 minutes minimum.

About the Role

You’ll be working across both Specialist Teaching Facilities (STF Units) and mainstream classrooms, providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs.

Every day will be different — from supporting emotional regulation in a calm space, to celebrating progress in the classroom. You’ll work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to create positive learning environments where every child feels safe, understood, and capable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group behaviour support in both STF and mainstream settings
  • Implement personalised behaviour plans and emotional regulation strategies
  • Model positive communication, empathy, and resilience
  • Support teaching staff with de-escalation and positive behaviour approaches
  • Record and monitor pupil progress, feeding into wider support plans
  • Help foster inclusion and wellbeing across the school community

We’re Looking For

  • Experience supporting children with SEMH or behavioural needs (school or youth work settings) or adults.
  • A calm, nurturing, and proactive approach
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Patience, creativity, and a sense of humour — essential!
  • Relevant qualifications or training (e.g. Team Teach, Thrive, Autism Awareness) are desirable but not essential

If you believe every child deserves a champion — someone who won’t give up on them — we’d love to meet you.
Apply now and help us shape brighter futures, one day at a time.
