Behaviour Mentor

Date posted : 15/05/19
£9.50 - £11 per hour

Job description

This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...

Do you have the the confidence and maturity to deal with challenging students with disruptive behaviour?

Do you have the persiverence to keep on going when it feels like nothing is working and you are hitting a brick wall?

Are you proactive? Constantly looking for the new strategies and coming up with solutions and creative ideas yourself?

Are you happy to get stuck in and give it a go with enthusiasm and a positive attitude

If you answered yes to these four questions, then working as a behaviour mentor could be the career choice for you? The only other prerequisite are:

  1. You MUST be eligible to work in the UK
  2. You need to be educated to degree level or already have school based experience or experience working with disabilities.
  3. If you don't have a degree you MUST have a grade C or above in GCSE Maths and English

A secondary academy in Keynsham is looking for a behaviour mentor to support Key Stage 3 and 4 pupils who have challenging behaviour on a 1:1 basis. These students either have a neurological condition such as ADHD or Autism or have SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health).

This role is to start immediately on a full-time basis. The school is also needing a Behaviour Mentor to replace someone from May, so if you are only free then, this would work too.

You will be working closely with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator) in their special provision, which supports pups who are struggling in mainstream school. The aim is to work with these pupils so their behaviour improves. After this they would be integrated slowly back into the mainstream school.

If you are interested in this Behaviour Mentor role, please contact me immediately as we are short-listing in the next few weeks. Please quote "Behaviour Mentor" and we will be able to discuss the role further. I look forward to your call.
