Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in the Lancaster (LA2) area, currently looking to appoint a Behaviour Buddy to join their behaviour support team.

This role is ideal for someone who wants to build strong, trusting relationships and provide consistent, calm support to pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for children with behavioural challenges and SEMH needs.

• Encourage positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and academic engagement.

• Work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and behaviour leads to deliver tailored interventions.

• Use behaviour de-escalation techniques and nurture-based approaches.

• Act as a positive role model and consistent support figure for pupils who may have experienced trauma or disrupted education.

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience working with children with SEMH or behavioural needs (school, youth work, care, etc.).

• A calm, empathetic, and resilient approach to behaviour.

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

• Training in Team Teach or similar (beneficial but not essential – training can be provided).

• A genuine commitment to inclusive education and pupil wellbeing.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
