Join Our Team as a Classroom Assistant!

Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting Classroom Assistants to work across a variety of schools in Llandeilo and the surrounding areas. These schools boast excellent facilities and are committed to celebrating the achievements of their students.


Role Overview

As a Classroom Assistant, you will support teachers and other professionals in delivering inclusive education to students, particularly those with a diagnosis of ASD. The school has a capacity for 35 pupils and provides specialist educational placements for children and young people between 11 and 19 years, all of whom are on the Autistic spectrum; some have severe or profound learning difficulties.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 or small group support for pupils with special educational needs (SEN/ALN).

  • Assist in planning and delivering differentiated learning activities.

  • Help manage classroom behaviour and promote a positive learning environment.

  • Support students during lessons and activities, encouraging engagement and development.

  • Liaise with teachers, parents, and external professionals to monitor progress.

  • Prepare classroom materials and resources.

  • Offer personal care and support, ensuring student safety and well-being.


Key Requirements

  • Experience working with children or young people (experience with SEN/ALN desirable but not essential).

  • A caring, patient, and positive attitude.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and families.

  • A genuine commitment to inclusive education and student success.

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant) are advantageous but not essential.
