Teaching Assistants Required – Autism Base within Mainstream Secondary School
Location: Cardiff
Salary: £93–£98 per day
Contract: Full-Time and Part-Time Positions Available
Teaching Personnel is seeking dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistants to support students within an Autism Base located in a mainstream secondary school in Cardiff.
This rewarding role involves working closely with pupils aged 11–16 who have Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), helping them access learning, develop social skills, and achieve their individual goals in a supportive educational environment.
Experience with children or adults with ASC is necessary for this role.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with autism.

Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive learning activities.

Support students with communication, emotional regulation, and social interaction.

Help create a positive, structured, and nurturing learning environment.

Encourage independence and confidence both inside and outside the classroom.
Requirements:

Previous experience supporting children or adults with autism is essential.

A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.

A genuine passion for supporting individuals with additional learning needs.

Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
