This rewarding role offers invaluable experience supporting children and young people with social, emotional, behavioural, and learning needs while helping you build a strong foundation for future careers in psychology, education, counselling, or social care.
About the Role
As a Behaviour & Learning Mentor, you will work closely with teachers, SEN staff, pastoral teams, and families to provide targeted support for pupils both inside and outside the classroom. You will play a key role in helping students develop confidence, resilience, emotional regulation, and positive learning behaviours.

Key Responsibilities
-
Provide 1:1 and small-group support for students with emotional, behavioural, or additional learning needs

Support the implementation of behaviour and wellbeing strategies
-
Encourage positive engagement, focus, motivation, and emotional regulation
-
Build strong, supportive relationships with pupils to promote confidence and progress
-
Help create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
-
Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SEN teams, and parents/carers to support pupil development
What We’re Looking For
-
A Psychology degree or currently studying Psychology (or a related subject)
-
A genuine interest in child development, mental health, behaviour, or education
-
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
-
Patient, adaptable, reliable, and empathetic individuals
-
Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential
-
Full training and ongoing support provided
