Reception Teaching Assistant with Autism Support Experience

 

We are actively recruiting for a full time Teaching Assistant to work with a Reception pupil in a mainstream school located in Kirkby. The main focus will be working one to one with a SEN child in the Reception class, who has ASD (Autism) from the end of November/ start of December 2019. The ideal candidate MUST HAVE previous experience working 1-1 with a child who has ASD.

Key responsibilities and requirements for this teaching assistant role will include:

  • General support of Early Years
  • Previous experience supporting SEN pupils with Autism/ behaviour problems
  • Must be able to hold 1-1 & group interventions.
  • Must be able to de-escalate any situations that may rise, and maintain the pupils focus on class work.
  • Have patience and a caring and understanding nature.
  • Be able to use own initiative and act accordingly without having to be directed.
  • Be able to work full time from November/ December 2019
  • Be able to commute to the Kirkbyarea
