Autism Support Teaching Assistant
A large Secondary school in Newport is recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to join them for the new academic year from September. The role will be providing in lesson support for students with additional learning needs, in particular students with Autism.
This is an exciting opportunity for a graduate or experienced teaching assistant to develop their experience with Additional Learning Needs. A graduate with a degree graded 2:2 or above is ideal for this role and or an experienced teaching assistant looking for a new challenge. Previous experience, personal or supporting children or adults with Autism is desirable but not a requirement.
This is a full time position - Monday - Friday, working 8.15am - 2.45pm.
The ideal Teaching Assistant will be able to commit for the full academic year. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate to expand their classroom experience prior to undertaking their teaching training and becoming a fully qualified classroom teacher.
The hourly pay rate for this role is between GBP10.20 - GBP12.10 per hour (dependant on experience)
Your role will be to attend lessons with the student you are supporting, and provide 1:1 support to help the pupil meet their full potential.
The school you will be joining has excellent provisions to support pupils with additional needs, and you will be supported by a team of 20+ teaching assistants and ALNCO.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
