A Milton Keynes primary school with a specialist provision for ASC pupils, are looking to appoint a SEN Teaching Assistant for the academic year.
This teaching assistant position will involve supporting a year 4 ASC pupil in class and in individual 1:1 sessions. It is important that you have had some experience of working with pupils on the autistic spectrum and understand the patience needed to provide good support.
The school have a specialist ASC provision on site which is staffed by 3 primary ASC teachers and 6 SEN teaching assistants, of which the successful applicant will be one. It is an experienced team, so you will benefit from the vast SEN knowledge of the other staff to further your professional development.
The success of this provision has been through hard work and the consistent high standard of teaching from key members of staff. The successful teaching assistant will have the benefits of being tutored by, and learning from, outstanding SEN staff throughout the year.
The school promote imaginative teaching and learning throughout the school in every phase and year group, and there are many examples of cross curricular lessons and learning strategies. This is also applied to the IEPs of the ASC pupils and the successful applicant will play a key part in their academic and pastoral development.
