Autism Specialist Teaching Assistant

We are recruiting for Autism specialist Teaching Assistants to work across several of our schools in Great Yarmouth. The successful candidates will be providing support for pupils with varying levels of Autism, they may require substantial support with difficulties in verbal and non-verbal social communication and changes in routine.

The ideal candidate should have experience working with students with Special Educational Needs and/or Autism, any autism specific qualifications are desirable. Anyone with experience with working with Autistic children outside of the school environment i.e., caring, family are encouraged to apply.

As a Teaching Assistant supporting a pupil with autism, you must:

-          Have experience working with children and young people with SEN

-          Be resilient when providing support in challenging environments

-          Have the ability to engage pupils in their learning

-          Prioritise consistent daily routine to help minimise anxiety

-          Be able to work with the school to ensure pupil progression

This role may also offer further CPD training and experience, providing an excellent opportunity to develop your skills alongside truly making a difference for children in education.

The role:

Monday – Friday

Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm

GBP10 per hour minimum

You must have your own transport as some settings are located outside the town

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
