TA Role - Supporting KS3 - KS4 students with Autism

Job description
A mainstream secondary school in Portsmouth are currently looking for teaching assistants (TAs) with experience or who are passionate about working in SEND. As part of the role you will be required to support students from KS3-4 within their lessons. The school has an additional provision in place to support pupils with Autism and places at the school are well sought by those wishing to remain within a main stream secondary setting. Staff are required to lead small groups or work 1:1 supporting students with numeracy and literacy. Due to the nature of the environment it is essential that you can demonstrate a resilient and caring attitude. Special needs experience is not essential as the school are happy to consider staff with a lot of mainstream experience.

This is a great opportunity for anyone that has previously worked with ASD students as the school offer accredited development programs and the opportunity or a permanent placement. Ideally you will be available full time to begin in October, with interviews commencing upon returning in the new academic year this September.
