✨ Specialist SEND Support Assistant – Primary School (EN1) ✨
Location: Enfield (EN1)
Timings: Vary by pupil needs (e.g. 9:20am – 3:15pm/Full time)
Start: Immediate | Long-Term Role
Position via Teaching Personnel


Teaching Personnel is working in close collaboration with a dedicated SEND primary setting in the EN1 area to recruit nurturing and resilient Support Assistants to provide tailored assistance to pupils with autism spectrum conditions and a range of cognitive and communication challenges.

The school delivers highly personalised learning and prides itself on fostering independence, confidence, and emotional well-being in every child. This is a long-term opportunity well suited to individuals who have prior experience in a similar capacity and are committed to inclusive education.


The Role Involves:

  • Offering consistent and individualised support to learners with diverse presentations of autism and related developmental needs.

  • Collaborating closely with teaching staff and therapists to help deliver adapted lessons and therapeutic activities.

  • Assisting pupils with social interaction, routine transitions, and non-verbal communication tools.

  • Monitoring behaviour calmly and positively, using established strategies to support self-regulation and focus.

  • Encouraging independence through daily routines and learning tasks.


We're Looking For:

  • Experience working with neurodiverse children or pupils with global developmental delays in a UK-based educational environment.

  • A sound grasp of how to support children outside of a mainstream curriculum.

  • An empathetic, observant, and composed individual who can adjust to varying support needs throughout the day.

  • A valid Enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered with the Update Service or willingness to apply through Teaching Personnel.

  • Availability to commit to consistent, term-time hours, with working times based on the assigned pupil’s needs (typically 9:20am – 3:15pm).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
