The Head of Inclusion (SENCO) at an Ofsted graded ‘Good’ Secondary school located in the Worsley region of Salford is seeking a full time Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) Teaching Assistant, from October 2019 until the end of the academic year with the potential to progress on to a permanent contract for the successful candidate.
Due to a restructure within the inclusion department the Senior Leadership Team in collaboration with the SENCO is looking to recruit a resilient, passionate and empathetic practitioner to work with pupils on the spectrum across Key Stages 3 & 4.
- Full time ASC Teaching Assistant required from October 2019.
- Previous experience working with ASC is essential to be considered for this position due to the sensitive nature of the role and pupils you may be supporting.

- Earn up top GBP350per week dependant upon previous experience and qualification.

The incoming ASC Teaching Assistant will be joining a staff team of 11+ teaching assistants, several Learning support Assistants and3 Higher Level Teaching Assistants, all working under the guidance of the SENCO and Headteacher. As the successful ASC Teaching Assistant you can expect to have access to state of the art resources within modern facilities, within in intimate and open plan learning spaces, tailored to the needs of learners.
The responsibilities for the successful ASC Teaching Assistant will include;
- Provide day to day classroom support to pupils on a 1:1 or in small groups establishing good rapports with pupils, acting as a role model and acting on all needs as required.
- Encourage pupils to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher.
- Help to plan lessons by preparing materials and resources.
- Have the confidence to address conflict and challenging behaviour.
You will be joining a dynamic Secondary school, with just over 700 pupils on roll aged 11- 16, ideally located to be accessed via the M60/A580 (East Lancashire Road) and the surrounding areas; Bury, Trafford and Wigan. The school also has various public transport options with links throughout Greater Manchester.
