A teaching assistant with experience working with children with special educational needs is required for a primary school situated Bury (BL9). This role will be starting 20th May and will last until the end of the academic year. The pupil is currently in Year and there is a possibility of this role carrying on in September for the successful candidate.

  • 20th April 2019
  • £285 - £315 a week
  • Full time position
  • Bury (BL9) Primary School

A friendly and warm primary school in the Bury (BL9) area is looking for a nurturing and pro-active teaching assistant who can provide 1:1 support for a pupil with ASC and learning difficulties. The pupil is currently in the Year 3 class but is working at a reception level. The Head teacher is looking for a teaching assistant with previous experience working with pupils with special educational needs to provide emotional and academic support in the class room and in intervention rooms.

As a 1:1 teaching assistant, you will be supporting the teacher by ensuring the pupil fully understands the instructions of the work and is able to access the curriculum at a suitable level. This will be a hugely rewarding role supporting a happy pupil who needs support within the class room.

A large part of this role will be to provide emotional support to the pupil as they have been struggling to make emotional connections with the other pupils in the class room.

The School:

The school has excellent facilities including a specialist 'Nurture' provision to support pupils within the school with special educational needs. The Bury primary school has a strong focus on every child reaching their full potential in and out of school. The school has a supportive and very approachable atmosphere and the Head teacher believes in continual professional development, sending staff on various training courses to enable all staff to develop their careers further.

This role will start straight away so please send your CV or call the Manchester West Primary branch on 0161 242 1792 for more information.
